FABREGAS AND MORATA PARTNERING WELL

Chelsea enjoyed a brilliant run to the title last term because the team gelled very well.

The wingbacks were working and Diego Costa was brilliant solely upfront. NemanjaMatic and N’GoloKante did their defensive and offensive work very well. The central defenders knew their job and Thibaut Courtois was on point.

After the breakup and changes, the Chelsea squad seems to be getting their mojo back. This time, Alvaro Morata and Cesc Fabregas are partnering very well. The 24-year old former Real Madrid man plays differently from Costa as he is more of a team player than a one-man solider upfront. He has been impressive so far since arriving at Stamford Bridge.

Still the creative force, Fabregas has helped his compatriot settle very well in his new role. They have this obvious instant understanding that the team would benefit from. Continue reading FABREGAS AND MORATA PARTNERING WELL

Antonio Conte changed Mind over Cesc Fabregas

A few months ago, Antonio Conte was almost sure that Cesc Fabregas was going to be one of the players whom he would put on sale in the summer, but, he seems to have had to change his mind after seeing some mighty strong midfield displays put on by the Spaniard in the last 6-7 weeks of the 2016-17 Premiership campaign of the Blues.

According to the sources close to Chelsea, Conte now believes that Chelsea needs the skilful Fabregas going forward and thus he does not intend to necessarily find a buyer for him. However, the coach has not shut the doors completely on those who want the playmaker and if there is a big offer on the table, he may still entertain the thoughts of selling the 30-year old who has had a 3-season long tenure at Stamford Bridge so far.

Fabregas himself has not given too much away in terms of whether he desires to remain in the Blues’ camp where it’s proving to be tough for him to get sufficient game time or he is looking for a club where he can be the first choice on a regular basis. Cesc Fabregas still Advises Chelsea to find psychological edge

Cesc Fabregas doesn’t think that because of Chelsea emerging victorious over Tottenham in the recent Round of 4 Clash in the Cup, they have earned any psychological edge over their London rivals in the Premiership title race.

As per Fabregas, there are 18 points to play for as far as his team his team is concerned in the Premiership and he reckons they should try and win all of those points because the games that Tottenham has to play are not the most difficult of the games except the one against Arsenal. So, it’s highly unlikely that they are going to lose a lot of points.

Fabregas is also of the opinion like so many other people that Chelsea’s absence from the continental competitions is one of the massive factors why they have proved to be so clinical in the English top flight. Continue reading Cesc Fabregas still Advises Chelsea to find psychological edge

FABREGAS – KEY TO CHELSEA TITLE HOPES

Cesc Fabregas has been the man Chelsea call on as they struggle to maintain their winning streak.

After the win over Sunderland, the Blues extended the streak to ten but they are facing stiffer competition to continue.

The Spaniard was the saviour when he gave a brilliant assist to lead striker Diego Costa to break the deadlock in the game against West Bromwich Albion last week. The World Cup and Euro winner was the saviour again when he hit a brilliant effort to ensure Chelsea claimed maximum points against the Black Cats on Wednesday.

The victories have left Chelsea six points clear at the top of the Premier League. Coach Antonio Conte is fixated on continuing the winning run for as long as possible as it would earn him the Premier League in his first season in charge of Chelsea.

Most teams that lead the league into the New Year always win it, and Chelsea have a good chance at clinching the title this year. Rivals Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal all dropped points recently. With Arsenal set to face City, there could be more points’ loss. Continue reading FABREGAS – KEY TO CHELSEA TITLE HOPES

Jurgen Klopp Welcomes Potential Return of Steven Gerrard

Jurgen Klopp says that there will always be a role for Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard if he decides to return to the club.

The 36-year-old has been playing in the MLS with LA Galaxy, but he recently hinted that he may be ready to end his short spell with the North American club. On his Instagram account, he thanked LA Galaxy fans for the excellent memories that they have given him in the last couple of years. This seems like a direct hint that he would be ready to move on once the 2016 MLS campaign comes to a close.

LA Galaxy are currently involved in the play-offs after a mediocre campaign. Manager Bruce Arena criticised the star players at the club for failing to make a major difference. Alongside Gerrard, LA Galaxy also have former Premier League star Robbie Keane in their ranks. The possibility of Gerrard returning to Anfield has been rumoured in the last few days and Klopp has responded by saying that the club will always have a space for the iconic midfielder. Steven Gerrard rates Rafa Benitez as the Best

Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has lauded Rafa Benitez as the best manager he has worked with in his career.

Regarded as one of the greatest midfielders in his generation, Gerrard has also played under some of the best managers like Gerrard Houllier, Sven Goran Eriksson, and Kenny Dalglish. However, he managed to win the crowning achievement of a Champions League winner’s medal only under the guidance of Benitez. Even though the Spaniard’s reign did not yield a league title, his time at Liverpool was also the most successful for the club in the last decade.

Representing Liverpool over 17 seasons, Gerrard went on to make 710 appearances for the club and he played under five managers. He has worked with more world-class managers with the England national team. Gerrard says that one of the biggest strengths of Benitez was his ability to set up the team in such a way that they were extremely difficult to beat. This was one of the hallmarks of the Liverpool team that won the Champions League in 2005. They also came close to repeating those achievements in 2007, but they were beaten by AC Milan who gained revenge for the earlier defeat in 2005.

Steven Gerrard has urged supporters to get behind Jordan Henderson

Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has urged supporters to get behind Jordan Henderson, whom he considers as the real asset of the team. Henderson started captaining Liverpool even when Gerrard was at the club.

He was being moulded by former manager Brendan Rodgers, who seemed to be aware that Liverpool would have a huge void once Gerrard departed the club. New manager Jurgen Klopp, though, sees James Milner as the choice for being the captain. Henderson has suffered numerous injury problems in the last couple of years, which has limited his impact in the first team.

Yet, Gerrard has urged fans to remain behind the former Sunderland midfielder since he believes that the 26-year-old has a great future ahead of him. Last season, Henderson featured in only 26 games across all competitions and this included only 17 league outings. A summer of big spending has taken place at Liverpool with several new players coming to Anfield. This can only increase the pressure for Henderson. Gerrard was reviewing the position of the 26-year-old during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States. The former Liverpool captain is currently playing for LA Galaxy and is regarded as the biggest star at the club.

Gerrard playing well in midfield

Former Liverpool player Steven Gerrard appears to have hit top form with LA Galaxy.

Indeed the former England international has provided 2 assists in his team win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. This is the 7th assists that Steven Gerrard has created this season.

The midfielder has been criticized last season by LA Galaxy fans because he was underperforming and not creating much in the middle of the park. But this season, there has been a change in his performance. Steven Gerrard has not only created 7 goals but also scored 2 himself.

Steven Gerrard said that his improvement in performance has come after he has talked with the LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena. The Englishman has told the coach that he wants to play higher up the pitch so that he can contribute more to the attack. Steven Gerrard said that he is disappointed after drawing in Philadelphia

LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard stated that they were disappointed with a point after drawing against Philadelphia.

He indicated that they came here to win 3 points but instead managed only one. However, he admitted that it was a good point because Philadelphia played well in the game.

According to him, LA Galaxy has the quality to win games, and they need to make sure that they kill game off whenever they have the opportunity. He also wants the defence to stop conceding goals as this make it difficult for them to win matches. He wants the team to defend as a unit so as not to give the opposing team any chance of scoring.
